The Buried Alive 2025 Bumper is Underway

and we’re thrilled to give you a sneak peek into the twisted brilliance of our wildly talented cast and crew.

The Buried Alive Film Festival team returned to set, for a blood-soaked, behind-the-scenes shoot of this year’s anticipated BAFF Bumper. Festival Director and fellow Woman of Horror, Shannon Chamlee, stepped into the director’s chair. Surrounded by a creative, committed, and talented crew. Every shot was filled with monsters and buckets of blood. The team brought this year’s Buried Alive Bumper to life, and death.

First, and a enormous thank-you to my copilot and friend, Assistant Director, Jay Halloway, who not only helped steer the ship but also dreamed up the idea for this grotesque feast in the first place. Jay was by my side on every single shot, making sure we didn’t miss a beat. His eye for detail, positivity, and passion for the project kept everything running smoothly and fiercely fun.

Caitlin McPhail, our fearless and delightfully headless actress, went above and beyond, literally putting her head on a platter for the role. Caitlin’s no stranger to BAFF, having graced our screen in many past bumpers, and her infectious energy on set made every moment a joy. Her dedication, humor, and willingness to dive headfirst (pun intended) into the madness is a true inspiration.

We were lucky to have BAFF co-founder Lucas Godfrey of Gorehound Productions was on top the glistening blood and practical effects. Lucas turned an ordinary dinner table into a gory banquet of human flesh, with FX so realistic it had our monsters drooling. His creativity and attention to detail continue to elevate everything we do.

Nick Lauinger and Tony Reams, our dynamic camera duo, captured the carnage with cinematic flair. These two made even the most revolting scenes look stunning—balancing beauty and horror like true pros. Whether problem-solving a tricky shot or finding just the right angle, they handled every challenge like a breeze.

Massive thanks to Shane Morton of SilverScream FX Labs for providing the perfect setting, his legendary manor as our nightmarish location. Shane was also right there with airbrush in hand, helping us bring our monsters to life. Most of the creatures in the bumper was handcrafted by Shane himself, and each one is a work of grotesque art—detailed, imaginative, and totally unforgettable. Shane continues to be the go-to master when it comes to monster magic.

Torey Haas dropped by to make sure our post-production VFX are on track for gory greatness. Torey is the wizard behind the curtain when it comes to visual effects and animation, and his input ensures this will look as good in post as it did on set.

Our very own Screenplay Director Dayna Noffke dropped in to lend an extra pair of hands, and her presence was a pure joy. Dayna’s collaborative spirit, sharp eye, and willingness to jump in wherever needed made her help not only appreciated—but indispensable. Working alongside her was seamless and inspiring, and we’re lucky to have her on the BAFF team.

Jeremy Mercer, our ever-dedicated Marketing Director, documented the madness behind the scenes, capturing all the blood-splattered laughs and monstrous moments for future teasers. Get ready to see what he saw soon!

And now, for the blood-soaked heart of this shoot—our monstrous cast. These performers didn’t just wear the suits—they became the creatures, and each brought their own terrifying flavor to the table. Each costume was created by Shane Morton of Silver Scream FX Labs, The appearance of Gwilliam mask was created by Lucas Godfrey of Gorehound Productions:

Josh Evans took the lead as our TV-Head Monster, dominating the scene with otherworldly energy and the true host of our killer feast. The TV MOnster HEad was originally created by Blake Myers and was updated and painted by Shane Morton of Silver Scream FX Labs.

Jonny Drummond portrayed our twisted into the grotesque form of the Two-Faced Man or Monster Maybe Monsterman, anyway a creature split between two tortured expressions—half anguished, half maniacally gleeful. His physical performance captured the painful duality of this disturbing abomination—his physicality was pure nightmare fuel.

Daniel Dolan unleashed his primal side as the Werewolf, delivering a fierce, animalistic energy that brought the beast’s hunger and rage to life. From  snarls to bone-crunching movement with his claws, his werewolf was both savage and captivating.

Then I would like to mention the two guys from Mostly Horror Mostly Dave and Ramon:

Dave Bockus (aka Burlap Dave) became the ominous Burlap Dave, a silent and watchful figure whose stitched, sackcloth mask concealed the true horror beneath. His quiet, menacing aura filled the room with shall I say rough exterior, even without a single word.

Ramon Rodriguez transformed into the antlered Horned Monster, a nightmarish creature pulled from pagan legend, with a haunting, otherworldly presence that dominated the table. His slow, movements made the monster feel both ancient, unstoppable, and ready to chow down with those razor sharp teeth.

Alison Truley Zavcer delivered a deliciously unhinged performance as Teefie Girl, a feral, sharp-toothed nightmare whose wild grin added an interesting way to eat your spaghetti-intestines.  Off camera, Alison also stepped in to assist behind the scenes, making sure both crew and creatures were fueled for more madness .

Kevin Marshall, a familiar face from Rock with Siren, stepped into the grotesque skin of Brian Lonano’s “Gwilliam for a special cameo appearance. Kevin fully committed to the bizarre and hilariously revolting role, even treating the infamous puppet-like monster to a well-deserved slice of cake. Now that’s dedication.

The Buried Alive 2025 Bumper is now in post-production and creeping ever closer to its official release. We’re calling this beast “The Last Supper”… or maybe “Feasting on Film.” Either way, you’ll see soon enough—just be ready to lose your appetite.

Here’s to horror, humor, and the most unforgettable dinner party ever assembled.
