2024 Sinema Challenge Survivor

In the 13 Day Sinema Challenge, filmmakers are given both a subject card and a Card Against Humanity, which must be incorporated into a film created in just 13 days. These creative constraints force filmmakers to think outside the box, crafting unique stories, and having a killer time doing making it.

Garbage Day follows Mallory, who carelessly discards a gift from her mother and brushes off a homeless man’s ominous warning. That night, a trash-infused ghoul emerges, picking off Mallory and her housemates in a series of gruesome yet darkly comedic kills. Jason, Brandy, and Carter each face the monster’s wrath as it stalks them, mimicking the sounds of clattering trash. As the body count rises, Mallory discovers the hard way that karma can be deadly. In a chilling finale, the ghoul claims its final victim, leaving nothing but chaos in its wake.
